The West Buncombe Fire Department, an ISO Class 2 department, is dedicated to providing top-tier fire protection and emergency response services across Buncombe County and beyond. Operating from two staffed stations—Station 1, our headquarters at 549 Old County Home Rd., and Station 2 at 724 Riverview Church Rd.—we ensure rapid response and reliable coverage for our community.
Looking toward the future, we’re planning an expansion with the addition of Station 3, estimated to begin construction in 2029 at the intersection of Dix Creek #2 and Piney Mountain Rd. Guided by our mission, vision, and values, our team upholds a commitment to safety, service, and preparedness, standing ready 24/7 to protect and support our community. From firefighting and rescue to public outreach and education, we are committed to serving with integrity and excellence.
